Archduke Ammertus to tour the Colonies in the Sea of Storms

Despite the inclement weathers of late, Archduke Ammertus has set sail from Kingstones on Tynvaal in Ikenheim upon the Black Ship Tempest captained by Cassius Warwave, one of the famed Aquanesti of the Sea of Light in central Koth, to tour the Colonies of Koth throughout the Sea of Storms. This tour will take most of the winter months and bring his Dread Grace to the Colony of Emberal where he led the Eternal Empire to victory over the Blightstorm Armada and took the Corona of the Isle as his Imperial Consort, begetting High Lord Tyvidan Starfire. While touring the Colonies, his Dread Grace will collect the tribute of the islands for His Resplendent Majesty.

“We plan to make procession to each of our colonies across this Urth in the coming years to bring together the peoples of the Eternal Empire in body, mind and spirit. Rejoice for you shall soon bask in the glory of Koth!” – Archduke Ammertus

Ironclaw prices will soar

With the winter season of ironclaw fishing at its peak in the eastern Blue Rift region, early reports are very light from the Imperial Guild of Foresters. Ironclaw are a breed of crabs that live off of the shores of the Province of Canute that have naturally infused iron into their shells making them extremely tough. Full grown ironclaws are the size of a man and there are examples reaching the size of houses. Male ironclaws tend to have larger claws while females will have a harder carapace. These can be smelted for their iron content or reworked into viable tools, weapons and armor. The meat of an ironclaw is a delicacy that is enjoyed throughout Koth. Even the number of farmed ironclaw have been reduced due to the recent Sudrekkar raids and shipping challenges.

“Ironclaw fishing is dangerous in the best of times. The Imperial Guild of Foresters has sent additional guildsmen and resources to aid our brothers and sisters as well as the people of the Rift region in these difficult circumstances. We are sorry that we cannot meet the contracted quotas from the Imperial Guild of Merchants this season, but rest assured that the assistance we have committed will ensure that other contracted quota will be met for the foreseeable future such as Snowfox pelts and Karhun. ” -Hain Karsh, Master of the Hunt of the Imperial Guild of Foresters in Vaasaro, Ikantia.

Heavy Sudrekkar raids continue across the Blue Rift region of Koth

The White Waters came early across the region, bringing the icefields of the Sea of Glass deep into the Blue Rift. With ice almost reaching the mouth of the Black Spears, rivers that run through Einnen’s Edge to the Rooks of Belbran, the barbarians have grown bold and raided north into Ikantia and Georwell. Sudrekkar raids are a fact of life in Snovaal, Ikenheim off the southeast coast of Koth, but we have not seen incursions this deep since the coming Hoarduun’s Breath in the time of Maximillian I. Then, the Southern Fleet of White Ships were decimated, leading to the creation of the Icerims which were used to repel and hunt the Sudrekkar tribes under the banner of Kulkainen into the deep Glimmar. The legion of Archduke Berreth out of Canute and the legion of Archduchess Phendra out of Vydar have been dispatched in full force to meet the raiders. The entire Strazmor, an elite force of Georwellian legionnaires, have been called to duty to guard the Georgan Gates of the Icebridge and the southern coast of Georwell against incursions while the Icerim seek the leaders on the Sea of Glass. All guildsmen of the Rift region have been called to service and the Grand Marshal Korovo, Archduchess Phendra and Archduke Berreth have arrived in Belbran to coordinate the efforts.

“I will take the field personally against these animals of the south and we will have our justice for their crimes. Any who dare touch a citizen of Koth will be slain, any who stand on Koth soil will be laid low and their leaders … torched.” – Grand Marshal Korovo as he displayed his personal Torchbearer to the people of Belbran.

Winter Storms delay the Rhithrun

Gonno Vandalor, Master of the Imperial Entertainers Guild of Rhithrow in the highlands of Kel, has announced with a heavy heart that due to the excessive rainfall, the Rhithrun, a race across the Elivagar, must be postponed as the icy rivers are impassible even to the boldest of the river folk. The Rhithrun brings competitors from across Koth and the Colonies as well as dignitaries from Mindor and Pan Orda every year to the region. The winner is presented with the Waewand by Archduchess Shandra in Tharsmouth. Coverted across Koth, the Waewand magically speeds passage across the waterways of Koth and exempts the wielder from all Imperial taxes upon any ship they captain.
